The Afghan Boy Who Wore a Messi Jersey Made From Plastic Bag Finally Meets His Favourite Footballer

Murtaza Ahmadi finally met Lionel Messi!

Remember the photo of a young Afghan boy in a Messi jersey made from plastic bag that went viral? The photo went viral in January when a member of his family posted a photo of the six year-old in a homemade jersey.

Murtaza, the boy, didn't seem to mind that it wasn't a real jersey at all. Anything that brings him closer to Lionel Messi is good enough. The world famous football player sent his little fan an Argentina and Barcelona football jersey in the following month, thanking Murtaza for his support.

The biggest surprise came yesterday when Murtaza finally met Mess in the flesh at the Barcelona vs Al-Ahli match in Doha. Watch the moment when fan meets idol:

Murtaza apparently didn't want to leave Messi when the match was about to begin, he had to be guided out of the field by a referee.

We're so glad that this little boy got to meet his favourite player!
